i'm friggin' stressed. how many times have i attempted to study for econs - i've lost count. on toppa that, there's gen12ii responsibility. juz dun feel as though i'm doing my job as a leader there. but how?? project deadlines and tests are juz round the corner.
Let's talk a little about group dynamics.
Let's start with the basics. What is the purpose of a group? We form groups not mainly because we HAVE to. If this is the mindset we have. the group is gonna flop in the unity factor. unity is not judged solely during the happie pappie times. unity is compromising when theres a need to if there's a clash of views.
We form groups because we cannot handle things alone. We create teams when we recongnise that each member can help lighten the load now divided.
In ivp today we discussed and came to agreement on the stand that order is necessasary for freedom to exsist. True to the bone. Without order, freedom would overlap and impose. That's plain rude.
Likewise, in a group. without order, opinions and ideas would overlap. for some people, yes, it is characteristic of them to be more vocal. These persons are valuable to a group because in disscussions, feedback is an asset. However, it is tougher for these people as they have to be extra sensative to those who are not as vocal.
They may not speak because they may not understand. And if, right from the beginning of the race, the group breaks up. The overall performance will definately drop.
It's like a team race. If the entire team dosen't cross the finishing line together, they don't win. The runners who dash ahead will, instead of helping the group, weigh the group down. May i suggest they stay near the group and motivate them to run faster.
Undoubtedly, the leader of the team would have the unspoken responsibility to correct or encourage wrong or right behavior. But with inequal ferocity, respect is tantamount. Respect that is mutual. This is the key to order.
Yup, respect, not obedience. There's a difference. One is an outward expression of an inate quality. The other is much easier- gritted compliance. Respect obviously being the former.
Being in a group is not easy. The early stages of acquaintance have socially expected pleasantries that oil the new machine (Relationship). But it is maintaining it that is hard. Especially without the oil of courtesy.
H o w ever, if a group succeeds in workin together. It is a formidable force. Every part has it's place. All equally important. Pressence alone has a part too. Being in a group is about complimenting one another. So as long as you make wadeva you have work with others, no matter how small or big ur contribution is, it is without a doubt valuable.

sorry if i cant be the best leader that you envision... but i do try my best to keep the team together...
i shouldn be saying sorry to many times... you'll become immune to it... but... i do try my best.....
if you really want, you can be the leader.. its a tiresome job... haiz...
dun worry bout it man. dun always take things upon urself. afterall, i was talking about TEAMwork, so i'm considering the team as a whole, not juz the leader. my thoughts aren't personal (not 100% though.. it's my blog afterall=P), it's juz how i feel.
anyway, andrew, you are not obligated to be the "leader that [i](or anybody in this case) envision" k? cuz if u always feel the need to meet another's standard, u will think that ur standard is low. and how's a leader gonna get things done if he's preoccupied with how he leads?
relax dude=) be confident (but not thick headed of cos).
anyway, din say i wanted to be leader, so dun worry, won't dethrone ya:P but if u need help, ask!=)
